ZAINAB M.A. OMAR

HR DIRECTOR

Zainab is a citizen of Negara Brunei Darussalam. She graduated with a B.Sc in Computer Science and Management Science from the University of Keele and with a Masters of Science in Global Human Resource Management from the University of Liverpool. She joined BSP in 1983 and has a rich international experience of working in Oman, Qatar, UK & Norway and with multi-cultural teams. A homegrown talent, Zainab has had an impressive career in BSP, BLNG, Qatar Gas, PDO and in the Ministry of Energy. During her tenure in Qatar Gas, she was awarded the “CEO Award of Excellence” in 2012 for her outstanding contribution to Qatar Gas. As HR Director of BSP, Zainab contributes to BSP’s competitive performance and aggresive growth aspirations through people excellence. She synergises the people agenda in BSJV companies (BSP, BLNG and BSM) with primary focus on Talent Management, Bruneianisation, Capability Development, Change Management, Performance Management, Employee Engagement and Employee and Industrial Relations. Passionate about Women in Workplace, she is an active sponsor for D&I, Women Network in BSJV and as a mentor of women’s networks in BSP, BLNG and across the globe. An Enabler of Bruneian talent, contributing to the Brunei Young professionals network by coaching and mentoring many young Bruneians (both for BYLC & YPN), National Youth Day Table talk and directly via LINKED IN. She is a Council and Board Member for various prestigious institutions such as; the University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Centre of Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), amongst others. Zainab as one of the most senior HR Professional in Brunei is drawn to lead several professional workshops in the region and in Brunei.
